A changing reporting landscape
Challenge
As a.s.r. real assets expanded its reporting portfolio — annual reports, quarterly updates, ESG disclosures, prospectuses and vehicle-specific publications — the production process grew increasingly complex. The key challenge was that although much of the underlying content and data was shared across reports, production remained highly manual, requiring information to be retrieved, validated and reformatted across multiple applications. Growing reporting demands, faster publication cycles and rising expectations around transparency and presentation created the need for a scalable, future-proof approach.
Idea
Rather than optimising individual reporting processes in isolation, a.s.r. real assets adopted a connected reporting strategy built on the Workiva platform. Together with Advance Tax Compliance and TD Cascade, they developed a unified reporting ecosystem, combining data integration, governance and design within a single environment.
Advance Tax Compliance established the data foundation by connecting Workiva directly to the underlying source systems. We structured the full reporting landscape and developed a reusable design system that could be applied consistently across every publication. By bringing technology, content and design together, the solution delivered greater efficiency, stronger governance and more effective communication throughout the reporting process.
Result
What began as a strategic ambition has grown into a comprehensive connected reporting framework supporting more than 70 reports, all managed from a single source of truth within Workiva. Throughout the transformation, regular reporting cycles continued without disruption, safeguarding business continuity while the new approach was implemented.
Today, the a.s.r. real assets team independently manages the creation and publication of its reports, supported by periodic reviews from TD Cascade. The result is a more efficient, scalable and controlled reporting process that delivers greater consistency across the entire reporting portfolio.
