Radboud FTR
Background
FTR stands for the Faculty of Philosophy, Theology, and Religious Studies and is increasingly attracting students’ attention. With a positioning concept that aligns with the campaign theme, ‘You have a part to play’, it aims to articulate its role and how it can be meaningful.
Within this faculty, students learn to reflect on philosophical and religious issues. The faculty challenges students to develop into critical and engaged academics, who can take responsible positions in society with a conscious view of science and society.
As Radboud University celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, it has chosen reflection as a central starting point. Reflection is significant for society to break patterns and change systems for the better. For progress and innovation. FTR applies reflection in all its research as a faculty.
Idea
In an old abandoned factory hall, a professor, a lecturer and an alumnus literally hold up a big mirror to us in 3 films. In the mirror, the reflection turns into another “scenery,” stimulating, disruptive, and disturbing.
Alongside the reflected image, a sentence appears. A challenging contemporary societal question from the professor holding the mirror. A question that prompts thinking and strikes at the core of their lectures.
Critical thinkers have a part to play and the campaign is a call to action for this.
