We won gold, silver and bronze at the International Design Awards!

Total design wint drie International Design Awards

Not one, not two, but three IDA's!

We are very honoured, but also just plain happy. The professional jury of the International Design Awards (IDA) awarded the corporate identity we created for the Reading & Writing Foundation and the PostNL stamp series “Typically Dutch” with three awards. Gold and bronze awards for Stichting Lezen & Schrijven in the Print / Corporate Identity category and a silver award for the stamp series in the Other Graphic Designs category.

Goud en Brons voor Stichting Lezen en Schrijven

Reading & Writing Foundation – gold and bronze

With a simple and recognizable illustration style that forms the basis of the brand identity, the new corporate identity of Stichting Lezen en Schrijven serves an important task: increasing accessibility and recognisability for a wide audience. It is an iconic style with geometric shapes and colour areas. With the idea that the images in the illustration should always describe the message. This ensures that even those who cannot read will be able to understand.

Edwin van Praet, Creative Director: “Just like last year, we won prizes. But this time, with such an iconic corporate identity for such a beautiful organisation like the Reading & Writing Foundation, getting recognition in the form of a golden IDA is extra special. On top of that, I think that the Reading & Writing Foundation deserves this extra attention. It’s a great foundation and their work is of huge importance to the many Dutch people who have difficulty reading and writing.”

PostNL – silver

The stamp series “Typically Dutch” that was published by PostNL last year has been awarded a silver International Design Award. Each stamp in the series of five shows an iconic piece of Dutch food culture. Each food item is featured on a white plate with fork and knife on a coloured background, making the stamps the smallest placemats in the world.

Van Praet: “The theme is quintessentially Dutch, I am very happy that the smallest placemat in the world wins such a big prize.” Koen de Groot, CEO, adds, “It is fantastic to receive recognition for the work of the designers at Total Design, and international recognition for projects with such a clear Dutch signature is a wonderful start to the year!”
