TD and Nationale Opera & Ballet winner the German Design Awards 2025 for Rebranding

The rebranding project by TD (Total Design) for and in collaboration with Nationale Opera & Ballet has been awarded a Gold Award at the German Design Awards 2025. This rebranding brings together three separate brands into one cohesive and inviting visual identity that reflects the versatility and diversity of the artistic disciplines within the organization.

The process began with the brand promise “Part of something greater than yourself”, which formed the foundation for the design. The visual concept emphasizes an upward, transcendent movement and uses the power of omission to create a clear, consistent look. The approach was digital-first: the design was initially developed with a focus on digital platforms and later adapted for various other media. This ensures a consistent visual identity across all digital channels, seamlessly extending to other applications.

The jury of the German Design Awards described the identity as “clear and open,” with a strong focus on visual strength and a design grid that ensures a consistent visual language. They praised the way the design powerfully communicates the brand promise while leaving space for the different artistic disciplines of Nationale Opera & Ballet.

This recognition highlights TD’s ability to create an integral, sustainable, and visually strong brand identity that not only reflects the brand values of Nationale Opera & Ballet but also supports the organization’s future ambitions.
